Why You’re the Right Partner for the Job in 2025
Peggy Tierney Galvin, Chief Strategy Officer
At the time I write this, many of the Big Uncertainties that the tech world faced in 2024 have been resolved, at least for now. The Fed has cut interest rates twice, a welcome loosening of capital in recognition of a healthy economy. Inflation has eased, and employment remains low. The election is done, trailing a swath of known unknowns (tariffs, yes; how high and on what, TBD) and unknown unknowns in its wake. And the tech sector remains resilient and growing: the AI space is flourishing, with hyperscalers shoveling capital into infrastructure improvements, new chip technologies and software that can finally make some of the more eye-watering claims of AI a reality.
AI in the sky
Your biggest opportunity in 2025 will be showing your customers how your company is the right partner in helping them achieve these claims. A recent Economist article found that while few companies reported using AI tools in 2024, a significant number of employees said that they used AI tools on their own. This points to a couple of trends. First, that the use case for securing AI applications in 2025 will continue growing rapidly. And second, that even two years after the launch of GenAI, the enterprise use case for AI applications is still in its infancy. By using a strategic communications program that uses case studies, customer references, surveys and thought leadership to paint the clearest picture possible of what a successful enterprise AI deployment looks like, you will show the confidence and expertise customers are looking for.
Team players
If your solution doesn’t use AI, no fear. The biggest promise of AI – and the part that’s especially attractive to hyperscalers and investors – is its promise of significant productivity gains through automation. In 2025, B2B tech leaders should tell the story of how their solution helps make these operational efficiencies possible, such as via network infrastructure, reducing energy costs, reducing cloud costs, or improvements in design, speed or flexibility. With AI hot air projected to break records yet again in 2025, you will want to make the case as specifically and clearly as possible to customers. Use data, research, examples, and experience to show AND tell them what’s possible.
